Kaspersky Lab, Council of Europe to guard human rights in Internet

MOSCOW, Nov 8 (PRIME) -- The Council of Europe, Russian antivirus software producer Kaspersky Lab, and a number of technological companies have signed an agreement to mutually protect the human rights in the Internet, Kaspersky Lab said on Wednesday in a statement.

“The Internet is a unique space that we all attend every day. We read news and feeds of social networks here, plan vacation, make purchases, check banking accounts,” Kaspersky Lab’s Vice President Anton Shingaryov said.

“As a result, we leave a big digital tail behind us every day. Meanwhile, the Internet is exploited by cybercriminals in pursuit of their goals by putting us under a serious threat.”

The other companies that joined the agreement are Apple, Deutsche Telekom, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, Orange, and Telefonica.
